Last July 14th was a very special day for me. I was awarded the “Master de Oro” from Forum de Alta Dirección in a ceremony presided by H.R.H Prince Carlos de Borbón and the President of Forum de Alta Dirección, Mr. Carlos Escudero de Burón. And I’m feeling three different emotions that I’d like to share with you:
First special feeling is the responsibility of getting a prize which values -and I quote- “people distinguished by their professional labor, in economic and business context, as well as political and cultural, who have conquered new sectors and markets, discovering and implementing new technologies and have contributed for a better structuring of the society”.
I feel very proud to receive this award from such an important Foundation, which has considered that I have the requirements mentioned in the paragraph above. And the only thing I can say is that I’ll try to carry out my job in the future, with ethics, social responsibility, institutional loyalty and commitment to the citizens.
Second feeling I’d like to emphasize, was humbleness. Being awarded together with important institutions such as Dr.Valentín Fuster; the President of Mutua Madrileña, Mr. Ignacio Garralga; the journalist Juan Ramón Lucas; the General Manager of La Caixa, Mr. Juan María Nin; the businessman Pedro de Borbón Dos Sicilias; the President of the Spanish Cancer Association, Mrs. Isabel Oriol; City of Malaga’s Major, Mr. Francisco de la Torre; the Ambassador of Italy, Mr. Leonardo Visconti, or Fundación Botín,… was amazing!. Most of these public figures have set up the guidelines for my career and even in my private life, that’s why to become member of this group of leaders made me think about my third feeling, what did I do to deserve this?. The answer is obvious: I’ve been awarded in recognition of the Alzira Model.
This award is dedicated to all the professional staff that is working very hard since 1999, in order to improve healthcare, and social welfare. So I want to let them know my gratitude, and my pride for being a part of the group that is participating from the beginning in the gestation and development of an innovative healthcare model, and with a bright future. This is the ALzira Model.
